Our
next officer's meeting is Tuesday, April 3rd (meeting begins at 7:00pm sharp). And our next General Council Meeting
is on Thursday, April 12th (meeting begins at 7:30pm sharp) at St. Mary's
social hall.
Refreshments are served at each meeting; along with some no pressure
euchre games after the meeting. The name chosen in March's capsule drawing was
Patrick Tracy and Patrick was present and collected 1/2 of $258.00. Patrick generously
donated his share to a family friend who is a nun. Nice job Patrick. Remember, you must be present to win.
Please make it a point to attend because we hope to hear from
you and see in person at the meeting.
Do you feel refreshed now that Spring has sprung?
If so, how about getting involved in our Council. But what's that you say?
How do I get involved? How about attending our monthly Council
Meetings? Or how about donating an hour or two each month to
any of our Council Fund Raisers. They include the Lenten Fish Fry Dinners, Concerts in the Park,
Texas Hold 'Em
Tournaments, St. Jude Golf Outing, Christmas Tree Sales, Mentally
Impaired Tootsie Roll Drive, 50/50 Raffle Ticket Sales, Special Olympics and Christmas Food
Basket Program. Come and donate some time and muscle and help out
your Brother Knights. We love to see you more often.
The 2012 Member's Dues
second notice has been recently mailed.
There are still approximately 20 council members who have yet to pay. If payment is not received by 3/17/2012, a
Knight Alert will sent during the third weekend in March.
Officer nominations for this
year's will begin at our April business meeting on Thursday, April 12th. Nominations
will be accepted during our April, May and June meetings. The election will take
place at our June meeting. If you are intertested
in running for an office or know of someone who is, please contact Bill Cosnowski.
Lenten Fish Fry dinners begin Friday,
February 24, 2012. The all you can eat dinners will be served at St. Mary's church hall from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Dinners include baked or fried fish, potato, french fries or mac and cheese, cole slaw, dinner roll
and beverages. This year's prices are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 of senior citizens, children
between the ages 5 and 18 is $5.00. Children under the age of eat free.
We also have a family price of $30.00 (certain
restrictions apply). Carry out dinners are available.
This year, we are also offering a bowl of soup, roll, cole slaw and beverage
for a low price of just $2.50. The soup will vary from week to week. If you are a member of our council and
would like to help, please contact Bob Sobczak at 248 685 9071. We members to help us with
cooking, serving and cleaning. Once again, the St. Mary's Youth group will be helping us too.
On Sunday, March 25, there will
be a special intention for unborn at St. Mary's 10:00am mass. If you can attend, please
wear your red Knight's shirt and sit with us. We also are asking our council member's to
participate in saying the Rosary after the mass.
Our council will holding a
pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 29 at St. Mary's social hall. This event will raise
funds for St. Vincent De Paul. Price for the breakfast is a good will offering. If you can help, please contact Ken Gregory.
This year's Milford Special Olympics
will take place on Saturday, May 19th beginning at 10:00am. Please come out and support
this special event. Details to follow.
Our annual St. Jude Golf Outing
fund raiser will once again be at Mystic Creek golf course in Camp Dearborn. This year's event
will be on Sunday, August 19. Please begin to gather your four-somes. Details to follow.

The Knights of Columbus, the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen council 7444 like all other
councils in Michigan and the United States and the world have major things in
common, they work for Membership, to keep their councils viable with new
members, new ideas, new help on the many council's projects that occur. Charity,
all new members will find out that in 1882, Fr. Michael J. McGivney founded the
Knights to do charitable works and support widows and orphans. Vocations, did you know
since 1980 when we were chartered as a council, we have helped some seventeen young men and seven
young women searching their road to being a priest or sisters. There are many high school
boys and girls that may be thinking of joining a religious order. If you as a parent who may
have a son or daughter with these thoughts, let us know-we can help. Vocations are
everybody's job.

if you can help out.

 Our Council serves
the immediate surrounding communities of Milford, Michigan and is located
within Saint Mary, Our Lady of the Snows Parish located at 1955 E.
Commerce Road, Milford, MI 48381. Please note that you do not need to be a member
of St. Mary's Parish or live in Milford to become a member of our council
Council

With the efforts of the John Rogers and many
others, our Council was instituted on January 13, 1980 . It is
named after Archbishop Fulton J Sheen, who was also known as an educator,
preacher, editor, columnist, author and had radio and television shows.
Our Council was issued it's number 7444 on February 6,
1980.
Our Council works closely with the St Mary Our Lady of the Snows
Parish and surrounding communities in the Milford area. Over the
years, our Council has met at St. Mary's Church, above bank on Main
Street, Bogie Lake Golf Course, old farm house on Milford road, new hall
on Milford Road, Milford Senior Center, and now back at St.
Mary's.
We
provide generous support in terms of funds and volunteerism for
various projects and charities. Council members are
very active participants in their parish and worthy causes
.
Did you know that our Council is one of
four Councils in the area that belong to a 4th Degree Assembly? Our 4th Degree
Assembly is Assembly 3099 in District 1 in Michigan; Henneipan Providence. Meetings are
held at the American Legion Post 216, located on Commerce Road.
We are only a couple of months old but are actively involved in
the community. Approximately nine Brother Knights from our council
currently belong and we are looking for more to
