Our next General Council Meeting is on Thursday, August 12th at St. Mary's social hall.  Meetings begin at 7:30pm sharp.    Refreshments are served at each meeting; along with some no pressure euchre games after the meeting.  Our capsule drawing jackpot is now over $150.  Remember, you must be present to win.  Please make it a point to attend because we hope to hear from you and see in person at the meeting.

Changes, Changes, Changes, Our council completed officer elections for the fiscal year 2010-2011. We are happy to announce that Brother Phil Parker has been elected Grand Knight for our council. Phil has held the office of Deputy Grand Knight and Insurance Agent in the past. Phil replaces Bill Cosnowski. Bill was our Grand Knight for 5 years. Also, Mike Wojnar has been appointede to be Financial Secretary, replacing Doug Sordyl. Doug just completed his third year and his very hetic schedule prevents him from another three years. Congratulations to all and a special thank-you to Bill and Doug for their service,dedication, hard work and leadership over the past several years. And best of luck to our newest officers. May God guide you decision making and leadership.

Are you 'stuck' in the dog days of summer?  How about getting involved in our Council. But what's that you say?  How do I get involved? How about attending our monthly Council Meetings?  Or how about donating an hour or two each month to any of our Council Fund Raisers.  They include the Pancake Breakfast, Lenten Fish Fry Dinners, Concerts in the Park, Texas Hold 'Em Tournaments, St. Jude Golf Outing, Christmas Tree Sales, Mentally Impaired Tootsie Roll Drive, 50/50 Raflle Ticket Sales, and Christmas Food Basket Program. Come and donate some time and muscle and help out your Brother Knights. We love to see you more often.

Milford's Concert in the Park's Concert begin Thursday, June 3. Our council will once again supplying some mouth watering and affordable hamburgers, hot dogs and Polish and Italian Sausages. We need 7 to 8 men a shift. Duties include setting up the trailer, cooking and serving the food, and trailer clean up and tear down. Please try to arrive prior to 6:00pm or call 248 896 5774 if you have questions or would like to come out and help. Concerts run through August 5th (August 5th is a make from July 15th rainout, featuring Billy Mack & The Juke Joint Johnnies).

Looking for something to do on Saturday, August 14? How about joining us at the Brentwood Golf Club at 2450 Havenwood Dr. in White Late for our fourth annual St. Jude Golf Classic Fund Raiser? This year we will be at a new course and will have a shot gun format beginning at 9:00am. For just $85 per person, you'll get golf, cart, continental breakfast, lunch at the turn, buffet dinner, putting contest, closet to the pins (men and women), and longest drive (men and women). Resgistration begins at 8:00am but please contact Phil Parker at 248-363-0646 to sign up. We are also looking for hole sponsors (just $50).

The Knights of Columbus, the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen council 7444 like all other councils in Michigan and the United States and the world have major things in common, they work for Membership, to keep their councils viable with new members, new ideas, new help on the many council's projects that occur. Charity, all new members will find out that in 1882, Fr. Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights to do charitable workds and support widows and orphans. Vocations, did you know since 1980 when we were chartered as a council, we have helped some seventeen young men and seven young women searching their road to being a priest or sisters. There are many high school boys and girls that may be thinking of joining a religious order. If you as a parent who may haved a son or daughter with these thoughts, let us know-we can help. Vocations are everybody's job.

Are you a First Degree Member in our Council?  Would you like to become 2nd or 3rd Degree soon?  Please contact Phil Parker if you are interested in obtaining your degree or if you can help out.

Council Officer's meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at St. Mary's Parish offices.

General Membership Business meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at St. Mary's Social Hall .

 
With the efforts of the John Rogers and many others, our Council was instituted on January 13, 1980 .  It is named after Archbishop Fulton J Sheen, who was also known as an educator, preacher, editor, columnist, author and had radio and television shows. Our Council was issued it's number 7444 on February 6, 1980.

Our Council works closely with the St Mary Our Lady of the Snows Parish and surounding communities in the Milford area.  Over the years, our Council has met at St. Mary's Church, above bank on Main Street, Bogie Lake Golf Course, old farm house on Milford road, new hall on Milford Road, Milford Senior Center, and now back at St. Mary's.

We provide generous support in terms of funds and volunteerism for various projects and charities.  Council members are very active participants in their parish and worthy causes . 

Did you know that our Council is one of four Councils in the area that belong to a 4th Degree Assembly?  Our 4th Degree Assembly is Assembly 3099 in District 1 in Michigan; Henneipan Providence.  Meetings are held at the American Legion Post 216, located on Commerce Road.  We are only a couple of months old but are activily involved in the community.  Approximatly nine Brother Knights from our council currently belong and we are looking for more to join.  If you are interested in joining the Patriotic Order of the Knights, please contact Phil Parker at (248) 363-0646.
